Alright, I have this 2016 BMW X3, and we’re going to reset the service indicator as we change the oil in it. So let’s get into the car to try to do it.
- Get in the car and turn it on
You cannot do this with the engine running. So press the START button without step on any pedal and wait until you see a host of lights on the dash

With the little button on the dash, you press and hold it until the Service menu appears
- Go to the ENGINE OIL
Once it does, hit the little button to cycle through the menu and it will rotate through the vehicle service menu and find the ENGINE OIL
- Press and hold the RESET button
Then you’re going to press and hold the little button until it’s going to ask you to Reset
- Release and then hold the button again to confirm
After that, you’re going to press it again to acknowledge it’s going to reset in progress and you’re done
