2 Ways To Reset Tesla Model 3 TPMS Tire Pressure Sensors Light (2018-2021)

You will need to pay attention to your vehicle’s tire pressure and reset the TPMS sensors to ensure that the tire pressure warnings are accurate. There are two ways to reset the TPMS on the Tesla Model 3. Depending on your vehicle firmware update, here we tell you how to do it:

Automatic Reset

For the newer vehicle model, once you have changed the tires the TPMS sensors can reset automatically after driving over 15 mph (25 km/h) for more than 10 minutes. So you just need to make sure all tire pressure is in accordance with the recommended pressure on the Tire and Loading Information label.

Manual Reset

Time needed: 3 minutes

For older vehicle models, you can reset the TPMS via the touchscreen display. Follow the instructions below to get started:

  1. Make sure to adjust the tire pressure recommended on the Tire and Loading Information label

The label located on the driver’s door panel

  2. Turn on the ignition

Get in the car and then press the brake pedal

  3. Tap the ? CONTROL menu

The control menu is represented by a CAR icon and located in the lower-left corner of the touchscreen

  4. Select ? SERVICE

Several menus will appear on the screen

  5. Select RESET TPMS or RESET SENSORS

This option is under the Tire Pressure Monitor menu

  6. Make sure to choose the correct tire size, then select RESET TPMS

Choosing the wrong wheel size can result in false tire pressure warnings

  7. Drive your car over 15 mph (25 km/h) for more than 10 minutes

    Done!

These instructions are based on the Tesla Model 3 owner’s manual. This procedure should apply to the first generation of the Tesla Model 3 (2018 2019 2020 2021 model years).
