What’s a cracking, hot thing? I recently changed the oil on my car, and after driving for about five hundred kilometers, this warning came on to the dashboard because the mechanics at the car service where I went forgot to reset it. So this will be a short tutorial on resetting the spanner or service-required warning light on the dashboard of your Renault Clio.
So today, I’m going to teach you what it takes to do a complete oil service reset on all generations of Renault Clio. I’ll show you everything you need to know really fast. So let’s go ahead.
Table of Contents
Time needed: 3 minutes
In this section, we’re going to show you how to reset the service light on a Renault Clio MK4. Obviously, only do this if the vehicle has been fully serviced first. So let me do that right now.
Put the key in, keep your feet off the pedals and press the START button once to put the car into Accessories mode. So we’re gonna put in pre-ignition without actually starting the engine
Then we press the TRIP button on the end of the turn signal lever repeatedly till we get to Service Interval
Once we got that what I’m gonna do now is we’re going to press it that up again and hold and you’ll see mileage before service
After that, let go of the button and hold it in again till you see the mileage start flashing, and then the new service interval comes up so now it’s been reset
I’m currently in a Renault Clio MK5. This is the 2019 model and it’s got the service required warning and the spanner warning on the dash here. So in this section, I’m going to show you how to reset that now.
For your info, this operation work for the third, fourth, and fifth generations of the Renault Clio (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 model years).
If you are driving a Renault Clio, you should clearly know the necessary maintenance to maintain the vehicle’s performance and safety. You can easily find the recommended Renault Clio service intervals in the handbook. Check the tire pressure reading and keep an eye on the warning light to avoid any problems. If the light stays on after you restart the car, you have a slow puncture that needs to be repaired.
The average oil capacity of a Renault Clio is 4.8 liters. However, this varies from model to model, so make sure to refer to your handbook to find out how much oil your vehicle needs. If the oil leaks, it may be a sign of more severe problems, so have it checked out immediately. You may also need to change the filter on your Renault Clio if it isn’t working right.
Regular servicing is the most effective way to maintain your Renault and keep it running efficiently and safely. Renault also explains additional service items, including air filters, pollen filters, fuel filters (diesel only), accessory belts, spark plugs, coolant, gearbox oil, brake fluid, and tires. There is no need to go without these vital parts because genuine Renault parts are guaranteed to keep your car in the best condition.
The standard servicing intervals on Renault vehicles range from 12 months to 60,000 miles. Unlike other cars, Renault’s new models have warranties covering mechanical and electrical faults and normal wear and tear. In addition, new passenger cars are serviced according to the A/B system. The A level represents the standard maintenance of the vehicle, while the B level covers interim care and includes an oil and filter change.
Service intervals for a Renault Clio vary according to the model, but they are usually about 30 minutes or forty minutes. Moreover, you should ensure a reputable mechanic services your car to avoid any problems. Service intervals are integral to maintaining your vehicle, and a good mechanic can give you a complete service schedule with little effort. In addition, a Renault Clio service interval will help you get the best value for your money.
The suggested engine oil for the 2015 Renault Clio is 5W-30 synthetic oil.
You will need approximately 4.2 liters for Clio IV with a 0.9L petrol engine.
So that’s how you reset the spanner or service light in Renault Clio. As you can see, that warning is now gone out. I hope you enjoyed this content, and I hope you found it helpful. If you did, please share it. See you in the next one, and thanks for your time.
