What is Lexus ES Maintenance Schedule?
You’ve probably been wondering about your Lexus ES’s maintenance schedule. If not, you’re not alone. The maintenance schedule for this model’s engine is relatively straightforward. It’s important to remember that this information applies to vehicles sold in the U.S., not to foreign models. To keep your Lexus running at its peak, here are some tips:
Change Brake Fluid
Your car’s brake system transfers the force of pressed brake pedals to the wheel hub. Brake fluid also lubricates the movable parts in your braking system and prevents corrosion. Motoring experts recommend changing your brake fluid every 30,000 miles or so. Inspecting the fluid and replacing it after this interval will help maintain the performance of your brake system. Brake fluid is different from car oil, which breaks down over time.
When picking a brake fluid for the 2021 Lexus ES350 the owner’s handbook advises that the recommended are DOT 3 brake fluid (FMVSS No.116 or SAE J1703). If you’d like DOT 4 brake fluid you may use FMVSS No.116 DOT 4 or SAE J1704. There isn’t a major difference when comparing DOT 3 and DOT 4 so you may feel free to utilize whatever one is appropriate to you.
Routine Maintenance
Lexus recommends that your vehicle receive regular maintenance. This service involves tire rotation, oil change, and other essential services. If you have difficulty determining which services your car needs, you can use a service directory like RepairPal to get an estimate for your vehicle. Some services you may want to have done are brake pad replacement, engine air filter replacement, and brake fluid flush. A Lexus ES maintenance schedule may be different for your model, but it is a good idea to make an appointment as soon as possible.
Replace the oil filter every 30,000 miles. Old engine oil deteriorates and builds up contaminants, and wears out the engine. Replacing your oil and filter regularly will help maintain your vehicle’s engine for many more years. You can also install a cabin air filter to improve airflow inside the car and decrease pollution levels. If you’re looking for the best way to keep your Lexus ES running at its optimal capacity, follow the Lexus ES maintenance schedule.
