Yo! Wassup sedan lover! Today we’re doing an oil maintenance light reset, so we’ll be showing you how to do that on this 2005 Toyota Solara. We’re going to go through the basics of an oil reset and super simple, easy stuff. You can do it at home, and you don’t need any tools for this job.

So I just changed the oil in my Solara, and I need to reset the maintenance required light. You’re supposed to change the oil at 5,000 miles, and if you don’t reset it, the light will come on. So I’ll show you how to do that right now.

Time needed: 3 minutes

Alright, so we got a Toyota Solara. This one’s 2005, and we got the maintenance light on, and we need to get that off. So the first I’m going to do is:

  1. Turn on the ignition

If it’s not already we go to the on position

  2. Bring up the ODO (for 2003-2006) or TRIP A (for 2007-2008)

Hit the ODO/TRIP button and you’ll be on you got different options here, this one’s on the odometer got trip A and trip B also those are a little bit different but this one I found out works on ODO and TRIP A, so I leave it there

  3. Turn off the ignition

After that, make sure that the car is off

  4. Press and hold the ODO/TRIP button as you turn on the ignition again

Now you’re going to hold down ODO/TRIP stick and then turn the key to the on position again

  5. Keep to hold down the ODO/TRIP button

While you’re holding that in and watch what happens see the dashes go across then it resets to zero

  6. Startup the car

Once it goes to zero you can start it up and verify that the maintenance light goes away

Well, that’s all for this post on how to reset your oil light on the Toyota Solara (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 model years).
