Hello, Toyota fam? How’s your weekend going? Today I’m going to show you how to do a basic service on a Toyota Hilux. What we’re going to do is we’re just going to reset the service light after an oil change on the Toyota Hilux.
Nothing over the top, but it’s going to be quite a short content because I’m going to show you step by step and I’m not going to leave anything out. So if you’re at home and you’re not sure about how to service your own vehicle, this is good content because I’ll do a step-by-step show you how to do this thing.

Resetting Oil Change/Service Light On Toyota Hilux (2007-2023)

Alright, this is how to reset the oil maintenance required light on a Toyota Hilux pickup. What we’ll need is the ignition and the knob on the dash. So let me do that right now.
- Turn on the ignition
So we’ll start with turning the ignition on and letting it cycle through everything
- Go to the TRIP A
Now need you to see TRIP A in the dash. If TRIP A is not showing keep pressing the ODO/TRIP button until TRIP A shows
- Next, turn off the ignition
Once TRIP A in there you turn the ignition off
- Hold down the ODO/TRIP button as you turn the ignition key to the ON position
After that, you’ll need to push and hold the ODO/TRIP button and then turn the ignition on without starting the engine
- Continue to hold down the ODO/TRIP button
Keep holding it down and you’ll see all those bars count down as soon as they’re all done it turns zero and it should be reset
For your info, this operation work for the seventh and eighth generations of the Toyota Hilux (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 model years).
