How To Reset Oil Life On Cadillac SRX (2007-2012)

Good morning, young man! Today we’re going to go back to the basics and do more of a maintenance type content. In today’s post, we will show you how to reset the oil life on this Cadillac SRX.
So as a complete process from the beginning of resetting the oil life indicator, and if you’re new here, we’ve got a lot of posts on this Cadillac SRX and another Cadillac car. I’d encourage you to check out the rest of the content. So let’s get started.

How To Reset Oil Life On Cadillac SRX
For your info, this will apply specifically to the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 model years. The 2013 through 2016 model has a little bit different but I’ll try to get you a link up here.
2007-2009 Cadillac SRX
- First, put the key inside and turn it to the on position but don’t turn on the engine
- Over here you’re gonna hit the VEHICLE INFORMATION button or the car with the I until you get to this message where it says Remaining OIL LIFE
- To reset it is super simple you just have to hold the ✓ check mark button for like three seconds and right there 100% of your life remaining
2010-2012 Cadillac SRX
With DIC Button
Time needed: 3 minutes
Alright, so we’re back inside the vehicle, and I’m going to show you how to reset the oil life indicator so you don’t get the warning on startup every time. So here’s the way to reset it.
- Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine
If your vehicle has an ignition button, press the Engine Start/Stop button without touching the brake pedal
- Go to the VEHICLE INFORMATION MENU
With your car running on your left-hand side find the MENU button on the turn signal stalk and press it until you can see the VEHICLE INFORMATION MENU
- Scroll down to the REMAINING OIL LIFE
From here we can scroll in between different options by turning the thumbwheel up or down a few times until we come across REMAINING OIL LIFE
- Press the SEL/CLR button
Now press the SEL/CLR button on the far left edge and it’ll give the option to reset it
- Select YES
Use the arrow keys up or down to move it to YES and press the SEL/CLR button again to confirm
With GAS Pedal
The second option you can do is, you can get into the second ignition key but not start the car, then you will do the old style of pressing the GAS pedal three times so that will also reset the oil life as well.
