How To Reset Oil Change/Service Light On Chevy Aveo (2002-2011)

Alright, today we’re in a Chevy Aveo, and this one is 2010. We’re going to be reset the oil change or service light on this Chevy Aveo. That’s a little wrench indicator that pops up there underneath the speedo. To do this, it’s a really simple procedure.

So after doing an oil change, we’re going to need to clear out the engine oil light because it’s on. This car has a system where I don’t know how many thousand miles it takes to count, and it tells you how your oil needs to be changed. And now we need to reset that light, so let’s go together.

Time needed: 3 minutes

So here I have a 2010 Chevy Aveo, and when it gets to the oil mileage interval, the service light will come on in flash when you start it up. So the way you reset is:

  1. With the key off we’re going to go to the on position

First, we’re gonna turn the key on in run position without cranking the engine

  2. Step on the GAS pedal to the floor 3 times

After that hit the GAS pedal three times within five seconds and it’s going to flash and go off

  3. Start the car

Now you can turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset

So that’s the end of me today, and thank you very much. I appreciate you stopping in. This guide will be valid for the first generation of the Chevy Aveo (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 model years). If you find it useful, please share it with your friend that may need this information. I hope everybody stays safe. Love you all, peace.
