Hello, again, viewers. Welcome again to my site. I’m hoping you all having an amazing day. In this post, I will show you how to reset the service light on a Mazda CX-3 after an engine oil change. So stay tuned.
The Mazda CX-3 is equipped with maintenance monitors where it will remind you that you have an oil change due or time to service and stuff like that, which is indicated by a little wrench light. You need to reset the service data after you performed the engine oil change on your CX-3. So come with me and stay tuned.

Time needed: 3 minutes
So when you start the car, you see the wrench light come up, indicating that it’s needed for service. We just did a synthetic oil change, and now we will be resetting that wrench light. So the way to reset this is through the media panel. Let’s get started.
If your vehicle has a Smart key button, keep your foot off the brake and then push the START button twice you’ll see everything lighting up
Press the home button on the center console to bring you to the main menu
Turn the joystick to the left to highlight the Application and then hit it to enter
Then we’re going to turn it down to the Vehicle Status Monitor and push enter on that joystick
Next, scroll down to Maintenance and push enter again
You’ll see the Oil Change down at the bottom, so highlight it and then select it
Now when you did your oil change, all I have to do is just scroll to the reset and push on the joystick to perform the oil reset
There’s one extra little tip you can do the Trip Counter Stick on the cluster to reset the service light. So what you want to do is:
You’ll see the little wrench light flash and then it’ll blank it out. So then all of your settings in the maintenance will be what you set them to but it’ll get rid of the service light.
For your info, this operation work for the first generation of the Mazda CX-3 (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 model years).
This wrench light tells you that your car needs maintenance, such as oil changes. You should always check the oil in your vehicle and replace it as the manufacturer recommends. If your car is smoking, it could mean your engine requires maintenance. You should schedule an appointment at a Mazda dealership to fix it immediately.
So to keep your car running at its best, follow the manufacturer’s recommended oil change intervals. There will be no deviation from the norm! Now, be wary of motor oil promoting longer oil drain intervals since it’s not about making the oil drain interval last longer or extending it; it’s about giving long-term wear prevention during the oil drain interval, and specific high-performance engines are prone to oil use. Because this issue will only become worse if you lengthen your oil drain interval.
Yes. But, should you? Maybe. If your Mazda CX-3’s wrench light is on, here are several things to consider: Is your car acting up? Please check whether your car is overheated. The red oil can light isn’t working. Is the check engine light blinking? A “no” to any or all of the following questions indicates that your car is safe to drive.
The Mazda CX-3 engine has 4.4 quarts of 0W-20 in it. In colder conditions, thinner viscosity oil protects engine parts from friction and corrosion because they circulate freely across hot, moving components.
Peal OET/Antifreeze/Engine Coolant or Pentofrost Antifreeze/Engine Coolant is the recommended coolant for the Mazda CX-3.
The new Mazda CX-3 is capable of towing up to 2,000 lbs. Regarding power, drivers can credit the car’s 148-horsepower/146lbft inline four-cylinder engine for the job well done.
So that it’s a little behind-the-scenes trick that you can do. If this content is helpful, do me a favor and share it, so other people can see this post. So thanks for reading and see you next time.
