Reset a Yamaha MOTIF ES7 Music Synthesizer

The Yamaha MOTIF is a series of music workstations, first released by Yamaha Corporation in August 2001. The Motif replaced the EX series in Yamaha’s line-up. Other workstations in the same class are the Korg Kronos, Roland Fantom G. Motif is a music workstation that really has it all and has grown over the years in polyphony and waveform memory with the ES (2003) and XS (2007) series. Its features include Yamaha’s AWM2 tone generators, massive polyphony (62 to 128 notes), an excellent sequencer, a sampler, A/D Audio inputs, AIEB2, mLAN compatibility, and stereo inputs. The Motif Classic, Motif ES, and Motif XS all came in 61, 76, and 88 key versions, and the 88-key models are always balanced hammer-action as well. The Motif is a perfect synthesizer/workstation for studio use as well as live applications.

According to several user reviews, they have praised a MOTIF ES7 for the Even better sound quality than the original Motif; Dangerous filters; Sequencer is even deeper than before; Sampling horsepower competes with dedicated hardware; Saves data to any external USB device; Emulates Mackie Control and Logic Control for DAWs; Ribbon controller on all models. Also, some users have complained it for the relatively small LCD display; Connecting to Mac via USB currently requires OMS; Digital I/O optional; Sample data can’t be transferred directly to a computer via USB.

  • While you're at it, why not upgrade it for free? I've made my own custom setup available for absolutely free. You need at least 128MB ram for external samples. http://www.buzstop.nu/yamaha-motif/ Expand your palette with a soundset that makes the ES compete with the NORDs. Kind regards - Mikkel Håkonsson.
