The Clavia Nord C2 is a digital keyboards aimed at emulating various vintage organs, which was introduced in 2009. The Nord C2 takes the Hammond, Farfisa and Vox emulations of its C1 predecessor. The C2’s pipe organ emulation, unlike the electric organs, is generated using samples instead of physical modeling. This makes the C2 an extremely versatile instrument, providing not only rock organ players a new palette of sounds, but also the perfect instrument to use in churches, concert and congregation halls or any other venue where a high quality pipe organ instrument is paramount. It includes 21 stops, and provides an emulation of the swell pedal (which behaves differently from a Hammond organ) and tremulant. The sound engine was improved, providing additional click levels and emulations of other models of Leslie Speaker.
According to several Clavia Nord C2 reviewers, some users have praised it for a double-manual keyboard, it’s surprisingly light and manageable; Every emulation sounds very authentic and it’s a joy to play; Very portable and well built. Also, some users have complained it for the C1’s Unison mode has been removed; Sub menu feature labelling could be on a peel-off sticker.
