Acura RDX Service/Maintenance Codes

A few things to look for when you notice an Acura maintenance code. A sub-code usually accompanies it, the task the code represents. In most cases, the sub-code is a number. If you know what the code means, you can correct the problem and keep your Acura in great shape for years.

Here is an explanation of the various maintenance codes and what they mean. My car came with A1 maintenance required code. So as you see can here that means an oil change or tire rotation. I already got my oil changed and the tire rotated so I just need to reset the code.

Lights that indicate a need for service

Acura RDX has an electronic computer system that tells the driver when it needs service. It’s essential not to ignore these lights as they could damage the engine, leave you stranded on the roadside, or even cause an accident. Instead, it’s best to visit your local Acura dealership for a certified service.

The Passenger Airbag Off light on your Acura RDX indicates that the passenger side airbag is malfunctioning and will not deploy. This can be caused by placing your feet or other objects under the front seats. In addition, the Vehicle Stability Assistance Light (VSA) illuminates when a vehicle’s advanced stability control systems are not working correctly.

The service lights on an Acura RDX indicate whether it’s time for an oil change, tire rotation, or other maintenance. You can also check the condition of your tires by checking the tire pressure. The Maintenance Minder algorithm uses the driving conditions to determine which Acura service code you should visit. For example, city driving may require an oil change sooner than highway driving. The algorithm recognizes user-specific oil changes, tire care, or transmission fluid requirements.
