The third generation of the Mercedes Sprinter was presented on February 6, 2018, in Duisburg. The first vehicles were sold in June 2018. In this post, I want to share my experience resetting the oil light or service minder on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
So when maintenance service is due, the service minder light will appear on the cluster screen. The service interval must be reset after your vehicle’s oil change. So let’s see what we can do to help you.
Table of Contents
Time needed: 3 minutes
Okay, guys, in this section, I’m going to show you how to reset this Service A or Service B on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter after you change your oil. So most people don’t know how to turn it off because it’s a bit complicated, so I will show you how to turn it off now. So let’s do it!
With the foot isn’t on the brake pedal, press the START button one time to put it in the on position
Use the Touch Control button to display the menu
Depending on the position of your steering wheel, this button can be located to the left-hand or to the right-hand side of the steering wheel
Remember! Don’t press the buttons simultaneously. The timing is very decisive at this step!
If you do it right, that’s going to put you into the VEHICLE DATA screen
Okay, and then you are going to scroll down using the Touch Control button to where it says Assist Plus, then press the button to enter
And then that’s going to want you to press the ignition button again but still not on the break
Go down to Full Service and press the button to select it
Highlight Confirm Service and select it
Put in the oil that you use oil grid and then hit okay
When a confirmation message appears, select YES to confirm it
Done!
In this section, I will show you how to reset the oil lights or service lights without the control on the steering. It’s a little complicated, so what you have to do is:
For your info, this operation work for the third generation of the Mercedes Benz Sprinter (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 model years). For the older ones, you can reach it here.
That brief message on your dash will soon tell you it’s time for your first ten thousand miles. Check up what Mercedes-Benz calls “Service A,” but what you probably call is an engine oil change. So do you really need the technician? After all, how complicated is an oil change possibility?
There is quite a difference between a minor service and just an oil change though most people aren’t aware of it. A minor service requires more time and is much more involved than you think. But doing an oil change, drop the oil, and you change the filter. Maybe you might do a tire pressure, but that’s about it.
With a minor service, the dealer uses inspection sheets that go through the car top-to-bottom, in and out. They have a multi-point inspection sheet that we fill out and the Mercedes Benz service sheet, and it’s a lot they have to go through.
Your Mercedes-Benz is a fusion of luxury, performance, advanced safety, technologies, engineering excellence, and an automotive masterpiece. So this ten thousand-mile oil change is, in fact, a meticulous step-by-step inspection that is specific to both your vehicle’s model and year. It is designed to keep your Mercedes-Benz best performing like it was engineered.
Mass airflow sensor (MAF) power is out of whack with the Mercedes Sprinter’s P0101 code. The code is usually produced when a sensor is broken, or the connections are loose.
The CHF 11S Synthetic Oil Power Steering Fluid is an excellent choice for Mercedes Sprinters.
So that’s basically going to reset the service monitor light in your Mercedes Sprinter. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comment section, and I’ll do my best to walk you through them. All right, hopefully, I’ll hear from you quickly. Hopefully, this operation works for you. Talk to you later.

my 2020 Sprinter 3500 turbo diesel has a single large color display rather than the two part black and white. Do you know how to reset the Service A on that unit?
Same question as the above poster. This procedure does not work for the newer color displays. Any info would be greatly appreciated! I have now spent more time on this step than the oil change itself!!
Any suggestions on above comments. This does not work on the 2022 model.
