How does the oil life monitor work?
Did you know your vehicle can help you get the most out of your oil between changes? That’s because your car’s Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor uses the actual engine and operating conditions to calculate when you need an oil change instead of following a preset schedule.
Your car also considers your driving habits to calculate when it’s time to change the oil. Do what’s regarded as regular commuting with some highway driving. You’ll most likely need an oil change somewhere between 7,500 to 10,000 miles if you do moderate trailer towing, a lot of driving on mountainous or off-road conditions, or do a lot of extended idling, between 5,000 to 7,500 miles.
If most of your driving involves short trips in extreme hot or cold weather or trailer towing with maximum loads, your vehicle will remind you to change your oil between 3,000 to 5,000 miles. When you have a 5% oil life left in most cars, you’ll get a message telling you to change your oil soon. When you have 0% oil life left, the message will ask you to get a change now.
Once you get an oil change, remember to reset the system on your instrument panel. If you forget, your car will send you a premature message the next time. Oh, and keep in mind, if it’s been a year since your last oil change, you’ll get a reminder message regardless of your mileage.
FAQ – Ford Escape Oil Service
The oil used in the 2019 Ford Escape depends on the engine’s capacity. The oil viscosity for the 1.5L engine is 5W-20. 5W-30 is required for both the 2.0L and 2.5L engines.
The Ford Escape is equipped with an automated 6-speed powertrain. Depending on use, you should change transmission fluid every 30,000 to 60,000 miles.
75W-140 synthetic gear oil is recommended for Ford Escape. Valvoline SunPower is a brand that you may utilize in this car.
The handbook recommends Mercon ATF for Ford Escape; however, it is no longer usable. Instead, look for a name-brand ATF that fulfills Mercon V requirements.
So there you go, it’s pretty simple, guys. Now once you start up the car again, the oil change warning light will be gone, and you’re good to go. If you have any questions or anything like that, please feel free to comment, and let me know your questions. Ok, so I look forward to seeing you at the next one. Have a great day, guys.
Seemed a little odd, but worked perfectly.
