How To Reset Oil Life/Oil Change Light On Buick LeSabre (1999-2005)

How is it going, fellas? Today’s helpful how-to video is on resetting the oil life light on a Buick LeSabre after you did your oil change.
Now we just did an oil change on this car. You might see it in a previous post on the site or know the vehicle personally. So come on, let’s take a walk down there, and I’ll show you how to reset the oil light.

Here’s How You Reset Oil Life/Oil Change Light On Buick LeSabre
It’s worth noting that the method you use will be determined by the year and type of your car (1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005).
1999 Buick LeSabre
- First, you’ll need to put the key in the RUN position
- Then open up your glove box and right there you’ll find the OIL RESET button. So press it down for at least five seconds
- Five seconds later, the CHANGE OIL SOON LED will go off after flashing four times in quick succession. This shows that the Engine Oil Life Monitor System has been reset
2000-2005 Buick LeSabre
Time needed: 3 minutes
In this section, I will show you how to reset the oil service light or change your oil soon, minder. It’s something that you do; this is for a 2000-2005 Buick LeSabre with a 3.8 engine. So let’s see how it’s done.
- Turn on the ignition
The first thing you want to do is turn your key to the on position
- Get to the OIL LIFE INDEX screen
Then we’re going to go over here to the instrument cluster. Starting at the mileage trip screen use the GAGE INFO button to display the OIL LIFE INDEX
- Press the RESET button for several seconds
Once it is displayed press and hold the RESET button until the oil life returns to 100%
