Welcome to the day! Please enjoy the rest of your day filled with bright smiles and good thoughts! Today’s oil light reset episode, and we’re going to do the walkthrough process to reset the oil life or oil change light on a Ford Mustang.
So if you got an indicator on the screen that says you got to change your oil, just follow exactly how I tell you to do it, and it’s going to be easy to reset it. I had to refer to it the second time we did the oil change, and it made it easy to work the first time. Alright, here it is.

For your info, this is going to be on a 2019 Ford Mustang here but it will be the same on several different years (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 model years).
Time needed: 3 minutes
So this is the guide for oil life reset, and this should work with a new Mustang with the digital cluster and the steering wheel setup. So let’s see how it’s done.
With your foot off the brake hit the START button to get it to the on position
There’s a little button next to the horn that has two little gears you’re gonna push that and this will bring up a SETTINGS menu
Then again using the buttons on the steering wheel we’re gonna scroll down to ADVANCED SETTINGS and hit OK
Next, hit OK again on the VEHICLE
After that, scroll through this menu until you get to OIL LIFE RESET and hit OK
At this point, you simply push and hold OK and when the bar goes to the end it’ll say reset completely
Alright, guys, that’s going to do it for today’s post. If you have any questions about the process or how I went about purchasing oil, shoot them in the comment section below. Thanks for your time, and see you soon.

Hi Nick,
Thanks so much for the tip on resetting oil change light on my mustang. I haven’t driven the car much: having conducted the first service and oil change at 1500 miles. A year or so later with only a further 1500 miles on the clock and the warning oil change request. My question Nick is, do I really need to change the oil or is it still good for another year.
Many thanks for your pending advice.
