FAQ – Ford Fusion Engine Oil
Oil degrades because of the high temperatures in the engine and the frequent grinding. Oil’s slickness diminishes with age. If this is the case, you may hear a clacking noise when the engine first starts up or accelerates rapidly. See the oil life monitor warning on your dashboard or a low oil level on the dipstick. Identify the problem and fix it. It’s time for an oil change and installation of oil filters.
A 3,000-mile interval was a rule of thumb in the past. But today, every six months, or 7,500 to 10,000 miles, is the maximum distance it may cover in a single time. Refer to your vehicle’s Owner’s Manual for information on oil change intervals and oil life monitor systems. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us so that we may arrange an appointment with one of our workshop-trained mechanics.
All four engines in the 2019 Ford Fusion are lubricated with synthetic oil. 4.2 quarts of oil may be carried in the 1.5L engine. The 5.7-quarts SAE 5W-30 engine oil is used in the 2.0L four-cylinder engine. The 5.7-quarts capacity of the 2.5L engine utilizes 5W-20 oil. The 2.7L V6 uses SAE 5W-30 and has a 6-quart oil capacity.
