How To Reset Oil Change Required Light On Jeep Patriot (2011-2017)

How’s it going, everyone? It’s Nick back out of another tip content. Today I’m going to be trying to reset the oil change message flashlight on the Jeep Patriot. So if you got this, when you turn on your Jeep, this is changed the oil. So I’d be showing you guys how to turn off that light.
Jeep Patriot is equipped with an engine oil change indicator system. So if the system detects that the time has come to change the oil, the required message will flash in the electronic vehicle information center display for approximately 10 seconds after a single chime has sounded.
How To Reset Oil Change Required Light On Jeep Patriot
Time needed: 3 minutes
The engine oil change indicator system is duty cycle-based, which means the engine oil change interval may fluctuate depending on your driving style. So we’re going to reset that light right now.
- Turn the ignition to the RUN position
Turn the key to the accessory mode and not we’re not gonna start the car. Press the START-STOP button two times without step on any pedal
- Depress the GAS PEDAL three times within 10 seconds
Then we’re gonna depress the gas pedal three times slowly and make sure to depress the pedal all the way down
- Shut the vehicle off and then start it back up and check the oil change light should be gone
Done!
For your info, this operation work for the first generation of the Jeep Patriot (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 model years).
