What’s up, Mopar fam? So today, in this post, we will reset the engine oil change required light on my Dodge Challenger. I’ll show you a few ways to reset it so you can choose the best one for your car, even if the goal is the same.
So I have a nice little pop-up here that tells me my oil change is required now. I have already changed my oil, and I changed it about 2,500 miles ago; as you see, I do much driving and out of that 2500 miles. I put a full synthetic oil here, which is good for 10,000 miles or one year. So I shouldn’t have to change my oil for a while, but I need to get rid of this alert.

Recommended Oil Change Interval for the Dodge Challenger
Let’s talk oil. How familiar are you with the recommendation to change your oil every 5,000 kilometers? Nowadays, that is rare. Here are two big reasons why. 1: improved oil chemistry. Today’s oils, primarily synthetic, help protect engines better than ever. 2: oil-life monitoring systems. Most new vehicles will tell you when you need an oil change. So, what is the right interval? Every 5,000 kilometers? 7,500? 10,000?
The fact is, it depends on the age of your vehicle. Older vehicles may require more frequent oil changes in your engine type. Diesel typically needs more frequent oil changes than gas engines. And your driving habits.
Severe driving conditions involving dirt, dust, excessive idling, and frequent cold starts require more oil changes. Lastly, if you don’t drive much, you’ll need to think about time instead of kilometers, like every six months or so, depending on the age of your vehicle.
You need to know what your owner’s manual recommends and pay attention to your vehicle’s oil monitoring system. It’s intelligent and probably more accurate than whatever that old-school sticker on your windshield says. You won’t come in for an oil change too late or too early, which is good for your wallet and the environment.

A Dodge Challenger’s durability depends on elements, including how well it is maintained and luck. Depending on how well you take care of it and how lucky you are, your automobile might easily survive over 200,000 miles with minimal maintenance. Without proper maintenance and a little luck, your car may not make it through the 50,000-100,000-mile mark.
