How To Reset Oil Life/Oil Change Light On GMC Acadia (2017-2023)

How is life sailing? Today, we’re going to show you how to reset your oil life light on the GMC Acadia after an oil change. This isn’t going to be like boring long-drawn-out content on how to reset your oil. So in this post, I’m going to tell you all information to do it.
The reason why you’d want to reset this is if you’ve serviced the car yourself and a garage hasn’t reset it for you. Or maybe you’ve taken your vehicle to a dealer, and your technician forgets to reset your service light, and at that point as well, you’d want to press that button there to reset your service. - First, start up the vehicle
- Hit the ◄ left arrow button to get the cluster menu and then you’ll go to the INFO
- Then you’re just going to hit down until you get to the OIL LIFE
- Next, you’re just going to hit the ✓ checkmark until it resets to 100%
Resetting Oil Life in New GMC Acadia with Up Level Display
Time needed: 3 minutes
Okay, guys, now it’s time to reset the oil life remaining on the new GMC Acadia with an up-level display on the dash. We will be using the arrows button to scroll through the menu and then press the ✓ button as the enter button or select an item. So let’s do it.
- Turn on the car without starting the engine
So for step one, you want your ignition to be on, but you don’t want to start the car
- Go to the VEHICLE or i tab menu
Then you want to press the ◄ left or ► right arrow button on the right side of the steering wheel until Vehicle or i for information as you see in the image here is highlighted in the display
- Find the OIL LIFE
So now for Step 3 push the downwards button until you see oil life
- Hold down the ✓ button
Once you see oil life now press and hold the ✓ button until it says oil life 100%. On some models, a confirmation message will appear on the display, select YES to confirm

How does GMC calculate oil life?
Most GMC vehicles have an Oil Life Monitor that tells you when it’s time to change the oil. This monitor uses an odometer to track how many miles have passed since the last oil change. If your odometer is 100% full, the odometer skips this step. It is essential to check the oil level in your car at least once a month.
The oil life indicator light will flash and then go off when the car needs to be serviced. The icon will display an image of the road and the letter “i.” You will also see the words “oil life” and “oil change” shown. The oil level should be 100 percent.
The GMC oil life monitor will remind you when to change the oil in your car. It will also let you know how many miles you have driven since the last oil change.
