How To Reset Oil Life/Oil Change Light On Chevy Suburban (2007-2022)

Yo man! What’s new? In this post, we’re going to show you how to reset the oil life on this Chevy Suburban after an oil change. It is straightforward and inexpensive and dramatically extends your car’s life.
It can be a little scary for the first time, but it’s pretty easy if you take your time. However, you can always refer to your handbook if you’re not sure. So this will go through what you need to do.

Here’s How You Reset Oil Life/Oil Change Light On Chevy Suburban
It’s worth noting that the method you use will be determined by the year and type of your car (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022).
For 2007-2014
With DIC Button
Time needed: 3 minutes
It is time to reset the oil life in my Chevrolet Suburban. The DIC button on the dash will do the trick. So here’s what we’re going to do instead:
- Turn on the ignition
Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position
- Go to the OIL LIFE screen
You should have a little car here with the information symbol next to it. Then you’ll push that button until you get over to where it says OIL LIFE
- Hold down the ✓ button
Then you just go ahead and take your checkmark button and hold it down until it goes to a hundred percent
With Gas Pedal
The second option is also available on these cars where you turn on the car with the engine off and then you press the GAS three times so that would also reset the life. So you can go either way.
For 2015-2020
- On this one here you can actually start the car up. So go ahead and step on the brake and push the START button to start it up
- Then we’re going to use the directional buttons on the right of the steering wheel. So I’m gonna push the ◄ left arrow to get in the cluster menu
- Be sure this you’re on the INFO and once you’re on info press the ✓ checkmark
- Now with the up and down arrows go ahead and scroll through until you come up to OIL LIFE remaining
- Next, that we’re on that screen what you want to do is you want to push the right arrow and it opens up a window it says RESET
- After that, press the ✓ checkmark button and it’ll ask are you sure you want to reset
- To confirm it, push the right arrow to highlight YES and hit the ✓ checkmark to reset it
For 2021-2022
- To begin, turn the key in the ignition and let the engine warm up
- In the next step, we’ll use the ◄ or ► button in order to get to the I menu tab, which stands for “Information.”
- The OIL LIFE screen will appear after we scroll all the way down
- Once you got it the next step is to push and hold the roller button for a few seconds till it reaches 100%
