Windshield Washer Not Spraying? Quick Ford Focus Fuse Fix! (2012–2021)

Last Updated on April 28, 2025 by Nick

Hey everyone! Welcome back to the blog! Today, we’re diving into a quick and easy fix for the Ford Focus MK3 (2012–2018) and MK4 (2019–2021). If your windshield washer pump isn’t spraying and you’re stuck with a dirty windshield, don’t worry — it might just be a blown fuse! It’s super easy to check, and I’m going to show you exactly where to find the fuses and how to replace them. So let’s get started!

Ford Focus 2012–2018 (MK3) — Washer Pump Fuse Location

Time needed: 7 minutes

For the MK3 Ford Focus, the washer pump fuses are located inside the car, underneath the glove box on the passenger side.

  1. Remove the lower fuse cover

Squeeze the sides of the cover and pull it down to remove it.

  2. Locate the fuses

Behind the cover, you’ll see a bunch of fuses and the Body Control Module — the brain that controls much of your car’s electronics.

  3. Check these two fuses

    Fuse number 77 — Yellow 20-amp fuse
    Fuse number 82 — Yellow 20-amp fuse

  4. Inspect and Replace

Pull out the fuses and inspect them. If you notice any burnt or broken elements inside, that’s likely your problem.
➔ Replace any damaged fuse with a new 20-amp fuse.

Ford Focus 2019–2021 (MK4) — Washer Pump Fuse Location

For the newer MK4 Ford Focus, the fuse layout is different. The fuses you need are located in the engine bay fuse box. Check this video to find it.

Here’s what to check:
