Fiat 500L: How To Reset Fuel Cutoff System (2013-2021) – This car entered the European market in 2012 as an MPV. In the Netherlands, the Fiat 500L is available in three different versions: the 500L Pop, 500L Easy and 500L Lounge.

When an impact causes airbag deployment, the Enhanced Accident Response System will activate and a Fuel Cutoff light will appear on the screen. When this happens, you can’t start the engine before resetting the system. Here’s how to reset the Fuel Cutoff system on the Fiat 500L:

  1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position

    Make sure the turn signal lever is in the neutral position

  2. Turn on the ignition

    Turn the ignition key to the MAR position

  3. Switch on the RIGHT turn signal

    The left turn signal turns off and the right turn signal light will blink
    fuel cut off light reset

  4. Turn the signal lever in the neutral position

    The right turn signal lights will be off and left turn signal lights will flash

  5. Switch on the LEFT turn signal

    The right turn signal lights will be lit solid and left turn signal lights will flash

  6. Turn the signal lever in the neutral position

    The left turn signal lights will be off and right turn signal lights will flash

  7. Switch on the RIGHT turn signal

    The left turn signal lights will be lit solid and right turn signal lights will flash

  8. Turn the signal lever in the neutral position

    The right turn signal lights will be off and left turn signal lights will flash

  9. Switch on the LEFT turn signal

    The right turn signal lights will be lit solid and left turn signal lights will flash

  10. Turn the signal lever in the neutral position

    The turn signal will turn off

  11. Turn off the ignition and the Hazard flashers

    Turn off the hazard flashers manually

  12. Start the engine to verify the system has been reset

    Done!

Each step must be held for at least two seconds and must be complete in 45 seconds!
