In this post, I will go over how to set up a PIN to drive on a Tesla car. This will add an extra layer of security for the vehicle. It only takes a few seconds to authenticate every time you enter the vehicle. Here’s how to to do it:

  1. Turn on the ignition

Get in the car and then press the brake pedal

  2. Tap the ? CONTROL menu

The control menu is represented by a CAR icon and located in the lower-left corner of the touchscreen

  3. Go to SAFETY & SECURITY

The menus are in the left hand column

  4. Scroll down and then enable the PIN to Drive

The next window will prompts you to create a driving PIN

  5. Enter the four-digits pin and then tap enable

    Done!

Next time when you enter the vehicle and try to put it into drive or reverse it will prompt you for the pin. Enter the PIN and hit allow and then you can use the lever to proceed to drive.

  • Today we went to the grocery store. When I came out to put a package in the Tesla 3 there was a notice on my phone that I had 30 seconds left on the remote start but after than I could push the button again. Curious. We knew nothing about the remote start or how it got started. We now have activated pin starting. Cheers,
