- Get out of the vehicle and find the fuel door
The fuel door is located on the vehicle’s passenger side
- Push and release the center-rear edge of the fuel door
It will pop open and allowing you to refuel the car
This way should apply to the seventh, eighth, and ninth generations of the Chevrolet Malibu (2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 model years).

This is the dumbest design ever in a car. Why doesn’t GM have a simple latch near the steering wheel? I have tried repeatedly to open the door per the instructions to no avail.
