2007-2020 Chevrolet Tahoe Tire Pressure Sensor TPMS Light Reset Guide – The Chevy Tahoe is an SUV of the American car brand Chevrolet that can accommodate eight people. This car is suitable for towing a boat trailer, a horse cart, or a caravan.

The Tahoe has rear-wheel drive; When more traction is required, the electronically controlled Autotrac automatically switches to four-wheel drive. This can also be done manually, with the push of a button on the dashboard.

If you replacing a spare tire with a road tire containing the TPMS sensor on your Chevy Tahoe, the system will detect a malfunction and the low tire pressure warning light will blink. When that happens, the TPMS sensor reset process must be done. Depending on the vehicle model you have, here are a few ways to reset the TPMS.

2007-2010 Models

Time needed: 7 minutes

If you have a 2007 2008 2009 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe, you can reset the TPMS by increasing or decreasing the tire pressure without using tools. Follow these instructions to get started:

  1. Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine

    If your vehicle has an ignition button, press the Engine Start/Stop button without touching the brake pedal

  2. Press the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter’s LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for five seconds

    The horn will sound twice and the TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE message will appear indicating the TPMS matching process has started

  3. Activate the TPMS sensor

    Start from the driver side front tire, remove the valve cap, and then increasing or decreasing the tire’s air pressure until a horn chirp sounds

  4. Repeat the process for the passenger side front tire, passenger side rear tire, and the driver side rear tire

    A horn chirp will confirm that the sensor has been reset

  5. Turn off the ignition after you reset the last tire

    The TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE message will disappear

  6. Adjust the tire pressure in all four tires recommended on the tire placard

    Done!

2011-2014 Models

Unlike the previous model year, you’ll need TPMS Relearn Tool to reset the Tire Pressure Monitoring System in this 2011 2012 2013 2014 model years. Depending on your vehicle trim level, there are 2 ways to do this. Follow these steps to do it:

With RKE

  • Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine
  • Press the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter’s LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously until the horn sounds twice
  • Start from the driver side front tire, place the TPMS Relearn Tool against the tire sidewall, near the valve stem. Then press the button to activate the TPMS sensor
  • Repeat the process for the passenger side front tire, passenger side rear tire, and the driver side rear tire
  • Turn off the ignition after you reset the last tire
  • Adjust the tire pressure in all four tires recommended on the tire placard

With DIC Button

  • Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine
  • Press the VEHICLE INFORMATION button briefly until you see the TIRE PRESSURE menu on the display
  • Press and hold the ✓ button until the horn sounds twice
  • Start from the driver side front tire, place the TPMS Relearn Tool against the tire sidewall, near the valve stem. Then press the button to activate the TPMS sensor
  • Repeat the process for the passenger side front tire, passenger side rear tire, and the driver side rear tire
  • Turn off the ignition after you reset the last tire
  • Adjust the tire pressure in all four tires recommended on the tire placard

2015-2020 Models

Just like the previous model, you’ll need TPMS Relearn Tool to reset the Tire Pressure Monitoring System in this Chevrolet Tahoe 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 model year. Depending on your vehicle trim level, there are 2 ways to do this. Here’s how to do it:

Base Level Display

  • Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine
  • Turn the TRIP knob until the TIRE PRESSURE menu appear on the display
  • Press and hold the TRIP knob until the horn sounds twice
  • Start from the driver side front tire, place the TPMS Relearn Tool against the tire sidewall, near the valve stem. Then press the button to activate the TPMS sensor
  • Repeat the process for the passenger side front tire, passenger side rear tire, and the driver side rear tire
  • Turn off the ignition after you reset the last tire
  • Adjust the tire pressure in all four tires recommended on the tire placard

Uplevel Display

  • Press and holds the ENGINE START/STOP button for 5 seconds without touching the brake pedal
  • Press the ◄ navigation button to access the cluster applications
  • Select INFO
  • Scroll down to the TIRE PRESSURE menu
  • Press and hold the ✓ button to enter the relearn mode
  • Start from the driver side front tire, place the TPMS Relearn Tool against the tire sidewall, near the valve stem. Then press the button to activate the TPMS sensor
  • Repeat the process for the passenger side front tire, passenger side rear tire, and the driver side rear tire
  • Turn off the ignition after you reset the last tire
  • Adjust the tire pressure in all four tires recommended on the tire placard

This procedure should apply to the third and fourth generation of the Chevy Tahoe (2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2019 2020 model years).
