2012-2020 Holden Colorado Oil Life/Oil Change Light Reset Guide

Hi, trucker fam! Holaaa! It’s Monday, and while I was out running around town today, I get an oil change minder. I am changing the oil for the first time since I’ve had the truck. The only real annoyance left that we have to deal with is going to be with resetting the oil life or oil change light because, like all new cars, this Holden Colorado got one of those.

So now I will be going to show you how to reset it on this Holden Colorado. Thanks for checking out the content, and let’s get into it. I am going to run through the steps quickly, promptly, but correctly.

Holden Colorado Oil Life/Oil Change Light Reset Guide

Time needed: 3 minutes

Alright, we got the oil change all done, and now it’s time to go ahead and reset the oil life remaining for it. So basically, what you do is you use your controllers on the turn signal lever to do it. Let me show you how it’s done.

Come inside the truck and turn the key on without starting the engine
If your vehicle has an ignition button, press the Start/Stop button without step on any pedal
Go to the VEHICLE menu
Next, you want to get to the VEHICLE menu, so to get to that you can hit the MENU button on the turn signal lever
Scroll down to the OIL LIFE
Then you want to scroll up or down by using the thumbwheel until reaching the OIL LIFE
Press the SET/CLR button
Once you get there you’ll press the SET/CLR button on the top and it will ask you to reset the oil life
Select YES to confirm
Finally, highlight YES and then press the SET/CLR button to confirm and you’re done

For your info, this operation work for the second generation of the Holden Colorado (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 model years).

Cannot find 'Oil Life' after setting on 'Vehicle' menu. Does not appear with the scrolling.

It is also not on my 2012 Model.
