2018-2021 BMW X3 Oil Service Light Reset Guide (G01)
Time needed: 3 minutes
So what we’re going to do now is we’re going to enter the maintenance section, and we’re going to reset it to the new interval. So let me do that right now.
- Get to the Diagnostic mode
First, we’re not going to put our feet on the brake because we don’t want the engine to start, so we’re just going over to the START button and pressing it three times in a row to get into the Diagnostic mode
- Wait for a second
Then you’re gonna get some messages and the final message will say Diagnostic mode active and these messages clear on their own
- Press and hold the RESET button
Next, come over to the dash we have a button on the left side, so press that button and continue holding it and you’ll get a message which is the Engine Oil reset possible
- Make sure you’re on the ENGINE OIL screen
If you’re not on the ENGINE OIL screen you can press the RESET button repeatedly to scroll through the service items
and find the engine oil - Hold down the RESET button
Now we’re going to press and hold it again till it says Reset?
- Release and then hold the button one more time
To reset it we’re going to release the button and then we’re going to hold it again so now it’ll be resetting and you’re done
2022-2024 BMW X3 G01
In this section, I’ll guide you to reset the oil service light on the 2022 to 2024 BMW X3 or G01. So let’s get right to work.
Step 1
Press the Start button rapidly three times and wait until Diagnostic Mode Active pops up on the display

Then you’ll press the BC button on the turn signal lever and hold it for a few seconds probably 10 to 15 seconds

Once you do that you’ll see the service item that is possible to reset. You can scroll through all the menus by pressing the BC button briefly to find the ENGINE OIL menu
