Factory Reset:

Turn ON your Canon Powershot SX170 and press the [MENU] button
Press the right arrow once to highlight the “Tools” tab
Select “Reset All” and then press the [Func. Set] button
When the display ask you “Reset settings to default?” turn turn the dial to choose “OK” and then press the [Func. Set] button

My canon sx170 is won't on I have put my memory card a label using masking tape though there's a slight tightness, at first it turn on several times, and the following morning Ive tried to use this as a webcam but when I inserted the macro USB just in the a/v out it just appear in the screen the previous pictures that it is store on my memory card.... And in the following morning I want to get some pictures outside in my house...it didnt turn on, I did charged my battery and check it the reading is 4volts, I have remove the memory card and try it again, it didn't turn on... Huhuhu please help me... I love this camera so much!!!!! Thank hoping for a reply thanks
