|Last Updated on January 27, 2022 by Nick
Good Morning to ya! What’s going on? Today I’m going to show you how to reset the oil life light remaining on an Opel Vauxhall Insignia after you’ve done a service. If you want to get rid of the light, I will show you how to do it here.
The “Change Engine Oil Soon” notice will appear on the dashboard when the oil life is running low. The system must be reset each time the oil is replaced to ensure good operation. So let’s see how it’s done.

2019-2022 Opel Vauxhall Insignia Oil Life/Service Light Reset Guide
For Base Level Display
Time needed: 3 minutes
Okay, this is a 2020 model, and you’re going to use the buttons on the steering wheel to toggle through the menus left and right, up and down the press, and the ✓ for ok. So here’s what we’re gonna do:
- Turn the ignition on but don’t turn the engine on
If your vehicle has an ignition button, press and holds the Start/Stop button for six seconds without touching the brake pedal
- Go to i or car symbol
If you’re not on your information section press the ◄ or ► arrow and you’ll see several menus on the dash but you want to go into 🚗 car or i symbol
- Scroll down and find the OIL LIFE
Once you get there, you press down through the menus and you’ll see OIL LIFE remaining
- Press the ► navigation
Now press the ► right button and then you’ll see the RESET option
- Select RESET
Press and hold the ✓ on RESET and you’ll hear a beep and what will happen is the that’ll go to 100%
For Up Level Display
- Get in the car and turn it on
- To access the cluster menu, hit the left arrow key now
- Then you’ll want to go to the top one, which is INFO, and press ✓
- Once you’ve arrived at that screen, you’ll want to look through it until you find the OIL LIFE
- After that, you just hit the right arrow button to access the RESET option
- You then hit the center button, which will reset it back to 100%.
So that is how you reset the service warning indicator in a Vauxhall Insignia (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022). This is a 2019 onwards model, but I do have the older version done on another post, which I will link here. Thanks for checking it out, and have a great day.
