So I’m going to go over with you what it takes to reset the maintenance required light as far as what you need, and then we’re going actually to do it from start to finish on this thing in this Toyota Camry. I’ve been doing this for a while I’ve worked in garages. I’ve worked in the driveway, I’ve done all sorts of things I’ve seen all sorts of things, and of course, I’ve heard a few things along the way I want to kind of talk about it. So let’s get into it.
How To Reset Maintenance Light On New Toyota Camry

All right in this section, I will be showing you how to reset the maintenance required light on a 2019 Toyota Camry XV70. Very simple and nothing crazy. We’re going to use the directional pad on the steering wheel to do this. So let’s do it.
- Turn on your car position without starting the engine
If your vehicle has an ignition button, press the START/STOP button twice without stepping on the brake
- Go to the ⚙️ Settings
Use the directional pad on the steering wheel to scroll through to the menu until you find the ⚙️ Settings menu
- Find the VEHICLE SETTINGS
Find the Vehicle Settings menu in the settings menu. For Camry with a 7-inch display, this menu has a car symbol with a small gear on it
- Press OK button
Press and hold OK on the highlighted Vehicle Settings
- Select SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE
Highlight the Schedule Maintenance and then press the OK button to select
- Select YES
It’s going to ask you Reset Data? Then you’re gonna select yes and this will complete your reset

Full synthetic oil is used in the 2018 Camry. 2.5l 4-cylinder engine utilizes SAE 0w-20 and holds 4.8 quarts. In comparison, the 3.5l v6 engine takes 5.7 quarts. Cleaner engines use synthetic oil because when it goes through the engine, it gathers up dirt and metal particles that harm engines.
To reach the filter, you must go underneath and remove the oil pan positioned on the driver’s side. Unbolt the lid and remove the Camry’s oil drain cap using a 14 mm socket, then place a drain pan beneath and drain the oil.

I see a lot of postings on how to reset the maintenance code but none mention how it got there in the first place. What kind of maintenance requirements cause this message to come up? Telling everyone how to reset it doesn’t resolve the issue that caused it.
