Hello, my friend! We’re back with another oil life reset content. Today, I was about to reset the oil life light on my Chevy Spark after an oil change, and I realized maybe someone would find it helpful.
Depending on how often the car is used, the oil life system determines when it’s time to swap out the engine oil and issues an alert. Only after an oil change should you reset the oil life indicator. So let’s go ahead and get started.
2016-2022 Chevy Spark Oil Life/Oil Change Light Reset Guide

So this is a 2020 Chevy Spark, and I wanted to show you how to reset your oil light. As I’ve said before, if you do it yourself, but you’re not familiar with it, it’s a fairly easy process. So let’s try to do it.
- Turn on your car
Now the vehicle is running right now it does need to be to the best of my knowledge and accessory mode or running
- Get to the OIL percentage screen
Then what you’ll do is press this button here on the left stalk which is a MENU button till you get to the oil percentage indicator
- Hold down the SET/CLR button
To reset it, there’s a button on the end which says SET/CLR. You’ll push and hold it and for after about five seconds till you hear a chime that’s the chime and it’ll reset it to 100%
So that’s how you reset the oil life on this car (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 model years).
