2017-2018 Subaru Forester Oil Life/Maintenance Light Reset Guide

Alright, we’re in the 2018 Subaru Forester, and now we’re going to reset the oil light. You’ll see the screen on the center of the dash, and that’s going to be the screen we’re going to be focusing on to do this. So let’s do it.

1. Turn on the car without starting the engine

   First, you have the car in park and press the START button two times without step on any pedal 

2. Go to the Settings Screen

   Then we’re gonna be using this button to cycle through the screens to get this one here writes “Press and hold enter button to access Settings screen”
   

3. Hold down the ENTER button

   So you go ahead and press the ENTER button and hold it for about four seconds
   

4. Scroll down to the MAINTENANCE

   Once the screen comes up with the different settings you’ll go down to the MAINTENANCE using the arrow key

5. Select the Engine Oil, Oil Filter, or Maintenance Schedule

   From there you can individually reset what services you performed. You can select Engine Oil, Oil Filter, or Maintenance Schedule in this menu

6. Set the interval

   We’ve done an oil change so we could set a notification date and that’ll tell you when it’ll come back on

7. Select SET

   Once you finished, you just go down to SET using the arrow button press that in and it’ll reset it for you
