2016 Scion iA Maintenance Minder Oil Change Light Reset – Scion iA was showcased at the New York Auto Show on the basis of the Mazda 2 Skyactive. This car is armed with a 1.5-liter engine capacity capable of producing 106 hp. This engine delivers not only reliable performance but also very economical and environmentally friendly.

The notchback variant was marketed as the Scion iA on the North American market from 2015. After the Scion brand was discontinued in 2016, the model has since been available as Toyota Yaris Sedan in the USA (there until 2018 Toyota Yaris iA) and Canada and as Toyota Yaris R in Mexico.

2016 Scion iA Maintenance Minder Oil Change Light Reset

Time needed: 7 minutes

When maintenance service is due, the Maintenance Required or Oil Change minder light will appear on the display. The service minder information display must be reset after performed the maintenance service on your vehicle. Follow the instructions below to reset the Maintenance Required minder light on your Scion iA:

  1. Make sure the vehicle is completely stopped

    Turn OFF the ignition

  2. Press and hold the Dashboard illumination knob

    The button is located on the instrument cluster

  3. Turn the ignition key to “ON” position without starting the engine

    If your vehicle has a Smart key button, press the “Start” button twice without touching the brake pedal.

  4. Keep press the Dashboard illumination knob until [wp-svg-icons icon=”warning” wrap=”i”] flashes.

    After the [wp-svg-icons icon=”warning” wrap=”i”] light flashes for several seconds, the reset is completed.

  5. Turn off the ignition and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

    Done!

Method 2:

The maintenance monitor system can also be reset as follows:

  • Turn the ignition key to “ON” position without starting the engine
  • Select APPLICATION on the center dash screen by using the control on the center console
  • Select MAINTENANCE
  • Select SCHEDULED
  • Select RESET
  • When a confirmation dialog appears, select “YES” to confirm
  • Next, back to the MAINTENANCE menu and select OIL CHANGE to reset the oil life
  • Select RESET and select “YES” to confirm
