2016-2020 Cadillac XT5 Oil Life Light Engine Oil Change Minder Reset – The Cadillac XT5 (short for Crossover Touring 5) is an SUV of the car manufacturer Cadillac. The successor to the Cadillac SRX was unveiled at the LA Auto Show in November 2015. The five-seater is manufactured since the spring of 2016 in the United States and in China. In Germany, it has been available since July 2016 at prices starting at 48,800 euros.
The drive is powered by a 231 kW (314 hp) performing 3.6-liter V6 gasoline engine. In addition, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine is available in China. As standard the drive is through the front wheels, optional all-wheel drive is available. The XT5 has a rear-view mirror camera with which a 300 percent better overview can be set. Time needed: 7 minutes
When the remaining oil life is low, the Change Engine Oil Soon minder will appear on the display. The Oil Life display must be reset after each oil change. Follow the instructions below to reset the engine oil life system on your Cadillac XT5:
- Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine
If your vehicle has an ignition button, press and holds the Engine Start/Stop button for 5 seconds without touching the brake pedal
- Use the ◄ or ► navigation button to access the INFORMATION display (Right Menu)
The button is located on the steering wheel
- Scroll down to the “REMAINING OIL LIFE” menu
Use the ▲ or ▼ button to scroll down
- Press and hold the SEL button until the oil life display changes to 100 percent
On some models, a confirmation message will appear on the display, select YES to confirm
- Turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Method 2:
The oil life system can also be reset as follows:
- Turn the ignition to ON position without starting the engine.
- Display the REMAINING OIL LIFE on the multi-information display using the navigation button
- Fully press the gas pedal to the floor three times within five seconds.
