What is Acura Maintenance Minder System?
Every Acura has what they call the maintenance minder system, which will basically determine when you need an oil change. It is based upon each person’s driving habits, so you know as we get that question.
Many Acura’s have had that for several years, but we still get that question today. So basically, what you’re going to have is your car will have, so it’s not just over 3,000 miles. It’s based on several factors: your driving characteristics, the time between service, and the miles you put on your car.
So everybody could be a little different. Absolutely everyone’s going to be a little different regarding that. So you know we see a range of mileage when it comes up, but the car will let you know, and it gives you an indicator as to you know what service it is that you have as well as what percentage of oil life.
So how do you know that, right? Basically, you know because on your MID screen, which is in between your tachometer and your speedometer mostly it’ll show your oil life and it’ll as you drive it’ll drop from one hundred percent to ninety, to eighty and as it goes down when your service is ready. Then the light will pop up, saying something like A1 service code.
Here’s an explanation of what the maintenance minder codes mean. If your car came up with A1, A is for the oil change, and 1 is for the rotated tires. And if you’ve done both of them now, you can reset them.
FAQ – Acura Maintenance Service
When an Acura MDX’s check emission system indicates that a problem has been found, it signifies that the vehicle’s emissions, ignition, fuel, or exhaust systems have been damaged. If the car’s emissions control system is malfunctioning, it usually implies that the vehicle is polluting the air over federal regulations.
If the Acura MDX’s check charge system light comes on, you should get the alternator checked. This light signifies that your car’s battery is currently the sole source of power.
Variable Torque Management 4WD (VTM 4) is the Acura MDX’s version of the acronym for the vehicle’s all-wheel drive system. If this system’s warning light comes on in your MDX, the first step is scanning your vehicle’s codes to discover the problem. The EGR valve is the most prevalent source of this warning light.
Acura All-Wheel Drive Lubricant (DPSF) is the approved fluid for use in the differential of the MDX. For Acura automobiles, this fluid gives the most pleasing results possible.
