2013-2025 Nissan Altima Oil Maintenance Light Reset Guide

Last Updated on October 20, 2024 by Nick

Hello, what’s up, everybody! Today, I will tell you everything you need to know on how to reset the oil maintenance or service light on the Nissan Altima. The oil change minder system uses a half-year timer or 5,000 miles, whichever comes first to determine when to change the oil.

So the maintenance light comes on every five thousand miles to tell me I need an old change. Depending on your combination of operating condition and actual mileage, your interval may vary instead of using a predetermined oil change interval schedule either by time or mileage. Let’s continue to reset the maintenance service light.

Should I follow the maintenance minder?

In order to remind the owner to do routine engine maintenance, the maintenance minder system displays the remaining engine oil life on the information display. It indicates the remaining engine oil, which decreases over time as the car is driven more often. It begins at 100% with brand new engine oil and drops to 0% after the oil life has expired.

Changing your engine oil is essential for maintaining your engine and keeping your car running smoothly. Your engine oil will be replaced as part of the service. However, we recommend more regular changes if your typical driving includes:

  • Carrying heavy loads.
  • Idling.
  • Driving at low speeds for long distances.
  • Driving in dusty conditions.
  • Driving off-road frequently.

Different engines require different grades of oil. The Nissan qualified technicians know your car inside out and will ensure that it gets topped up with the correct grade of genuineness and oil. They prevent engine wear and deterioration, helping your Nissan Altima run efficiently.
