2015-2017 Kia Sportage Oil Service Reminder Reset Guide – The Sportage is a compact sport utility from Kia and it was released in 1993. The first generation of the Sportage was developed based on the Mazda Bongo platform. It shares many mechanical components, such as engine, transmissions, and differentials. This was during the Ford-Mazda-Kia alliance and shared the technology of the product in the early and mid-1990s. Sportage was sold in two- and four-door versions, convertible top. The four-door version also had a long chassis (Sportage Grand) in the Asian and Australian markets. The models with the long chassis came with 10 inches (250 mm) of extra space.
The first generation of the Sportage was discontinued in North America in 2002, and worldwide in 2003, except for Pakistan (Asia), which continued until 2004. The 1998 Kia Sportage was the world’s first vehicle to have equipped knee airbag. After a two-year period, Sportage 2005 returned, sharing its platform based on the 2005 Elantra with Hyundai Tucson. The Sportage has a 2.0L straight-4 diesel engine available in the UK. Critics and fans of the original Sportage pre-Hyundai have complained that it is considerably larger than the original Sportage and does not have the previous offroad capability of before, the two keys to its success. The 2011 Kia Sportage was launched in April 2010 for the Asian and European markets, following the markets of Central and North America in August. Featured at the Geneva Motor Show 2010.
