Hi, guys; in today’s post, let us see how to reset the oil service interval or inspection light on the VW Volkswagen Polo. The car we have here is a 2011 Volkswagen Polo 1.6 petrol and the car was due for a service.
So if we notice on the dash, we have something that says inspection, and if we go ahead and it says it’s six days past the service interval, that’s zero kilometers. The service has now been done, so let’s see how to go ahead and reset that to its original 15,000 or 372 days of the service interval.

Time needed: 3 minutes
In this section, I will show you how to reset the service light in a 2011 Volkswagen Polo. So if you’re turning the ignition on and an oil change is come up, then after service, you want to get rid of the light. This is what you’re going to have to do.
Make sure your vehicle is completely stopped
Then you’re gonna press and hold the 0.0 button as you put the ignition on without starting the engine
As soon as the ignition is turned on you swap over and you press the ❏ button (left button) quickly and it will reset
The inspection would do exactly the same thing for the service. So if you’re a have done with service and you know you need to get it done.
For your info, this operation work for the VW Volkswagen Polo MK5 MK6 (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 model years). For the older model, you can reach it here.
Maintenance service is a vital part of your Volkswagens life. Regular maintenance will ensure top performance. Oil is essential to your engine’s proper functioning. That’s why it must meet Volkswagen’s stringent standards, but over time and mileage, the oil gradually loses quality and its lubricating features, notably due to moisture and combustion residues. Therefore it is necessary to change it regularly.
Genuine Volkswagen parts take center stage at each servicing oil, fuel, air, and pollen filters, and spark plugs will be checked and replaced if their condition is not optimal. Their technicians are trained and equipped with specific tools to carry out a total of 30 checks which are essential for your safety. These include topping up fluids and checking the condition of your tires, braking system, battery, shock absorbers, and exhaust system.
Approval is far more critical than the grade at this stage. VW gasoline engines need oil approval of VW504.00, VW505.01 for diesel, and even specific diesel engines need the permission of VW507.00; oil viscosity is secondary. The range of temperatures that can be expected in your location is used to determine the viscosity grade.
2013 Polo Volkswagen’s with a 1.4-liter engine has a storage capacity of 3.2 liters for engine oil.
After looking at the opinions of others on the best oil brand for VW Polo, I have to say that it was a dead heat between the Millers and the Mobil 1.
So that’s how you do it. I know there’s a lot of confusing information out there, but I’m sure any of the above methods will work on your VW Polo. So leave your comments if it works or if you have any questions about this. Thanks for your time, and good luck.
