2006-2010 Jeep Commander Oil Change/Service Light Reset Guide

Yo! Good morning folks! We’ve got something a bit different for you today. As Pickers, you know, it’s helpful if you can do most of the work on your vehicle yourself. So this time, we’re going to be doing an oil change service light reset on the Jeep Commander.

If it’s done right, you will save a lot of money not having to hire a mechanic. I do most of the work on our Jeep Commander ourselves, and today we’re going to show you how to reset the service light. So let’s start the process.

Here’s How You Reset Oil Change/Service Light On Jeep Commander

It’s worth noting that the method you use will be determined by the year and type of your Jeep (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010).

2006-2007 Commander

Time needed: 3 minutes

So we have a performed service light on the 2006 Jeep Commander, and now we’ll complete the service light reset. So let’s see how it’s done.

  1. Turn the key on

First, insert the key and put the ignition on

  2. Go to the SERVICE INTERVAL screen

Then we’re going to go through the MENU button and push it to go through till we got the SERVICE INTERVAL screen

  3. Set the interval

Once we’re at this screen, you can use the STEP button to change these interval miles and go through and see for yourself but right now we’ve chosen 3,000 miles

  4. Press the C/T button

Once you are done with that, we push the C/T button on the far left side and you’ll get a reset confirmation

  5. Hit on YES

After that, we’re gonna change this to YES by using the STEP button and then you push the C/T button again and we seem to be done

2008-2010 Commander

  • First, turn it on the run mode and not gonna start it up
  • After that, you want to pump the GAS pedal three times so you can get rid of your oil change indicator and then that should reset it
  • Now when you start it up the next time you shouldn’t get that indicate that you need an oil change

So that’s pretty much it. I hope this content helped you in resetting your oil light yourself. Perhaps you saved money in all the total cost for the oil change. Thanks for checking it out, and have a blessed day.
