Last Updated on February 15, 2022 by Nick

Hey, good morning, everyone! This is Nick with a 2015 Cadillac XTS wanna do an oil life reset, and I’m just going to walk you through a very simple way to do an oil life reset after you do an oil change.

Changing your oil at the dealership will reset your oil life to 100%, but if you do it at the small garage, they would probably not. However, you can do it yourself easily. So let me guide you through the procedure.

How To Perform Oil Life Reset On Cadillac XTS (2013-2019)

Here’s How You Reset Oil Life On Cadillac XTS

Time needed: 3 minutes

Alright, in this section, I’m going to show you how to reset the oil change reminder on a Cadillac XTS. This is a 2017 model, and I’m sure it’s the same for many other models (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019). So here’s the way to reset it:

  1. Turn on your car

First, doesn’t matter if it’s with the engine running or just ignition on

  2. Get to the right screen

So I’m sitting in the vehicle with it running and the first thing you want to do is press the ► arrow to the right and then you’ll see that kind of highlighted in red the menu on the right screen
change engine oil life tpms light reset

  3. Scroll to the OIL LIFE

When you have on the right screen, we’re going to use the same button to scroll up and we’re looking for the OIL LIFE

  4. Press and hold the SEL button

Once you have to where it’s showing you the oil life percentage, in order to reset it now we’re gonna hold that SEL button for about five seconds until it resets to 100%

Can’t Find The Oil Life Menu

Follow the instructions below if you can’t find the Oil Life option on the screen.

  • First, you’re going to be using the ◄ ► keys to go to the center screen
  • Then you’re gonna scroll down and go where it says SETTINGS
  • Next, use the SEL button right here you can actually press it in and it’s gonna be like an enter button
  • After that, I’m gonna scroll down again to where it says INFO PAGES
  • From there, you’re gonna go to where it says OIL LIFE
  • Now you’re gonna press the SEL button again and make sure the Oil Life is checked
  • Once you are done with that, you can go ahead to the right screen and now you’ll find the Oil Life menu option there

So that’s how the oil life reset is done on this XTS. If you have any questions, please let me know, and if you could take a second to share, it helps us out, and I’d appreciate it. So thank you for taking a look at my post, and have a nice day.
