Leica introduced a new compact camera that supports APS-C format. The new camera is beamed X Vario is the first camera to combine an APS-C sensor and a fixed zoom lens. Optical lens with this new model allows the zoom with an effective focal range of 28-70mm and has a maximum aperture that varies, from f / 3/5 for wide-angle and f / 6.4 for telephoto.
Just like in the previous series, X2, Leica gives APS-C format sensor with 16.1 million effective pixels. However, the sensor on the X Vario capable of producing images that are clean and detailed at higher sensitivity values. This is due to image processing, which is more developed. X Vario can be used to record 1080p video at 30fps in MP4 format which allows it to be directly transferred to a mobile phone and a multimedia player if you want to enjoy the video recordings on other devices without the need to convert it first.

The camera is equipped with a 3-inch LCD with 920 thousand points but is not equipped with electronic viewfinder (EVF) is using the same processes and materials with Leica M, which uses a machine made of solid aluminum. Its ring allows you to move from manual and automatic focus, while the second ring is intended to change the focal length. Also provided the play button at the top of the camera which can be used to set the shutter speed and aperture. Leica X Vario is available in black and will be marketed at a price of about US $ 3.340.
To restoring Leica X Vario to it’s factory settings, conform to the following instructions:
- Turn on your Leica X Vario
- Set the desired functions in the menu.
- In the menu, select User Profile, and
- in the submenu select Factory Setting.
- Press the [MENU/SET] button
