How To Reset Oil Life/Maintenance Light On Honda HR-V (2016-2022)

Good morning, everyone! Wake up and be awesome! Today I’m going to show you how to reset the maintenance light or the oil life on a Honda HR-V. It’s very simple, and It’s a lot the same as many Honda cars.
Frequently when you go to these oil change places, or even you go to the dealerships for some reason, they just skip their mind to go into to reset the oil life. So let’s go inside and reset the oil life.

How To Reset Oil Life/Maintenance Light On Honda HR-V (2016-2022)
For your info, this operation work for the second generation of the Honda HR-V (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 model years).
With Cluster Button
- Turn it all the way on and so the lights are on
- Once everything’s powered up, you’re gonna need to use the TRIP knob on top the clusters and you’re gonna hit it till you get to the OIL LIFE
- Then you need to hold the TRIP knob down for 10 seconds till the oil life start to blink
- After that, you can let go of the knob and then you need to hold it again for another 5 seconds and it’ll stop blinking and the oil life will reset to 100%
With Steering Button
Time needed: 3 minutes
In this section, I will show you how to reset the oil life in this HRV in a different way. We’re going to use the steering wheel handle right here and have a button select button and down button there. So let’s see how it’s done.
- Switch the ignition over to the on position
First, hit the engine start button twice but I’m not starting the car so I don’t have my foot on the brake
- Go to the VEHICLE SETTINGS
Then you’re going to be using these toggles on the steering wheel and you’re going to switch through until you get to VEHICLE SETTINGS
- Pull the SEL/RESET button
Next, you’re going to pull the middle or SEL/RESET button to select
- Find the MAINTENANCE INFO
After that, you’re going to scroll all the way to MAINTENANCE INFO and you’re going to select that
- Select RESET
At this point, you gonna scroll down one time to reset and then pull the SEL/RESET button to confirm it
