What’s up, Bimmers? Today I’m going to demonstrate for you guys how to reset the oil service lights on your BMW 5-Series 528i/535i. I guess some of you guys do like to know these others don’t care for those that take your car in for regular servicing to the dealer and pay the whole bill, and then it’s not that applicable.

But those who like to do a lot of their own wrenching and those who like to save some money by doing their own work and know their car better want to have these kinds of little tips and tricks. Some of these little tricks will give you the how-to reset some of these engine lights and service codes and whatnot. So let’s take a look, everybody.

Time needed: 3 minutes

Alright, in this section, I just wanted to show you how to reset engine oil service codes, and you can do the same thing with a lot of those service elements. So let me do that right now.

  1. Start off by getting in the car and turn the ignition on

If your vehicle has an ignition button, press the START button two times without step on any pedal

  2. Hold down the RESET button

Then you’re gonna want to put your finger on the RESET button and keep on holding it until you see Engine Oil reset possible

  3. Find the ENGINE OIL

Depending on what needs resetting this may or may not come off first. So if you want to flick to the next item literally just press the RESET button again and then it will cycle through the service item

  4. Press and hold the RESET button

Next, to reset it you’re gonna want to hold that in until it says perform reset?

  5. Press the button again

And then when it says perform reset, let go and then press it again to confirm the reset

For your info, this operation work for the BMW 5-Series F10/F11/F07/F18 (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 model years).

So that’s it. Everything is good, everything’s clear, and we have no more codes to reset on this BMW 528i 535i. Okay, everybody, I hope that helps you for those guys that do it yourself like I often do with a lot of my cars. So thanks for your time and good luck.
