Hello guys! Today we’re going to do an oil service light reset on the 2015 Kia Optima. This is just a base model. I don’t think it really matters cause I think they’re all the exact same process and ports and everything.

So once you turn on your car, you’ll see a service required light, and that’s going to be staring at you, and it isn’t very pleasant. And now I’m just going to show you the procedure on how to reset this light. So we’ll get started.

Ok, in this section, I will show you how to reset the oil service on this Kia Optima. You’ll use the TRIP and RESET button on the steering wheel. So the first thing you’re going to have to do is:

  1. Switch the ignition over to the on position

    Press the START button two times without step on any pedal

  2. Push and hold the TRIP button

    Then hold down the TRIP button for a couple of seconds and then the User Settings menu will pop up and will say the TRIP is for the move section and RESET for select

  3. Go to the MAINTENANCE

    Next, we want to go into MAINTENANCE and we just hit Reset

  4. Move down and select ENGINE OIL

    After that, we want to move down to ENGINE OIL. So we just click the TRIP button and then press the RESET button to get in

  5. Select the desired service interval

    At this point select whatever you want but basically, there is no reset option

For your info, this operation work for the third generation of the Kia Optima (2011, 2012, 2013 model years).
