Slash Signature Vermillion Les Paul is one of the finest examples of how tradition and unyielding quest for the ultimate quality and perfection, if you will, can bring very satisfactory results. This guitar blends timeless specs with Slash-approved features and details, all dressed in a luscious new finish from Gibson USA: Vermillion and builds on a foundation of the same traditional tonewood combination that helped to make the Les Paul Standard legendary when it first arrived six decades ago.
Slash Signature Vermillion Les Paul is a solid and single-cut guitar with gorgeous single Les Paul curves. These curves have tempted and seduced millions upon millions of guitarists around the globe and it`s pretty safe to say that if there is intelligent life out there, beyond are blue rock, all the chance is that Les Paul would rock their world, too. Traditional ingredients include mahogany back with traditional weight relief and beautifully carved flame maple top with creme binding. A carved solid Grade AAA figured maple top lends bite and articulation to the sound, while a select mahogany back treated with Gibson’s traditional weight relief to increase playing comfort and enhance resonance contributes superb warmth and depth. Very good build quality. The flamed table is beautiful, very soft touch varnish but there is no pickguard on the top of this beauty.
Neck on Slash Signature Vermillion Les Paul is made of quarter-sawn mahogany, Gibson`s traditional and most beloved neck material. Contour in the back is Slash`s own variant of the traditional 1960s slim contour. And topped with a bound Grade-A rosewood fingerboard with 1.695″ wide corian nut, figured acrylic trapezoid inlays and 22 medium jumbo-sized frets. Radius of the fingerboard measures standard 12″. The handle is very comfortable, very close to the Les Paul Standard 1979. The Slash Signature Les Paul looks stunning beneath its exclusive new Vermillion red finish, in hand-sprayed nitrocellulose lacquer.
Pickups and Electronics:
Pickups in the front are Alnico 2 Pro Slash humbuckers. Slash has always been particular about the tone his pickups achieve, so he teamed up with Seymour Duncan to produce the Slash Signature humbuckers to his precise requirements. In fact, Seymour Duncan’s top pickup makers worked tirelessly with Slash himself to create a pair of pickups that sounded just like the pickups in his 1986 recording guitar. The pickups are designed to deliver the same exact tone as Les Paul Slash used for Appetite for Destruction. These are made in the image of the hallowed Gibson PAF humbuckers of the late 1950s, with genuine Alnico II magnets, but with a few extra turns of wire for a richer, throatier tone in the neck position and plenty of crunch and wail in the bridge. They`re hot, they`re potent and amazingly melodic.
They are wired in the traditional four-knob control complement with three-way selector switch, and use vintage-style “orange drop” tone capacitors on the tone pots. Simple, versatile and utterly simply to use, yet unbelievably versatile. For the true fan, or the player who wants to capture Slash’s recorded tone, this pickup is a critical part of the tone chain. So, when you plug your Slash Signature Les Paul into your favorite tube amplifier, you’ll get the same tone that made Slash a household name.
A high-quality TonePros set including a Tune-o-matic bridge and lightweight stopbar tailpiece ensure solid sustain and precise intonation. It is a feature that has stood the test of time and is proven to be the best possible choice for guitars and basses with top-load construction. While a set of vintage-style Kluson reissue pearloid-button tuners retain a traditional look at the headstock. The combination of two-piece bridge unit and tuner keeps the tuning and intonation in perfect check. Dunlop strap locks ensure that your Slash Signature Vermillion Les Paul stays secure throughout the most rockin’ performance you can throw at it. The Slash Les Paul carries gold “top hat” knobs with silver inserts and a traditional “bell” truss-rod cover.

Overall the sound is really good. For my part, test store, she was by far the best compared to other standard and traditionnal of the same brand. The sustain is incredible, the pickups have a beautiful grain. The knobs are very accurate. In combination with a Marshall JVM 410 H head or head Marshall AFD 100, it is a killer. Thanks to the microphones sonoritées slash, it is very versatile! I love all the sounds they emit, in clean, saturated bridge or neck pickup. I play rock, but this Les Paul is very versatile, you get very good clean sounds or crunch. For blues, rock, or jazz it will be just as excellent. Unfortunatelly Gibson USA has announced that only 1,200 of the Slash Signature Les Paul guitars will be produced, making them instant collector’s items. The price of Gibson Les Paul Slash Vermillion Electric Guitar’s about $2499.96
