2005-2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Oil Service Light Reset Guide

Hey fellas! What’s new? Today I’m going to be sharing with you my Land Rover Range Rover Sport and how to reset the oil service light in this car.

So we’ve done the oil change all those four bits apiece; we need to reset the service indicator now. I’ve got the relevant technical document from LandRover here, and basically, there are some steps. So here we go.

2005-2013 Range Rover Sport (L320)

Time needed: 3 minutes

In this section, I’ll be walking you through a Range Rover Sport L320 oil service light reset. So let’s get into it.

  1. Hold down the TRIP button

    With the key off I’m gonna press and hold the TRIP button on the dash 
    service light reset on old rover via dash

  2. Turn on your car

    Then put the key in and turn the ignition on without starting it up

  3. Release and hold the button again

    When you see the SERVICE flashing let go of the button and hold it again till the DISTance come up

  4. Display the DIST or DATE

    At this point, you can change to DIST, DATE, and END by hitting the same button

  5. Hold down the button

    Now hold down the button on DIST till it says Reset and do the same for the DATE

  6. Start your car

    Once you are done with that, you can turn off the car and start your car to confirm that the light is gone

2014-2022 Range Rover Sport (L494)

  • First of all, pull up the Bonnet and open the Driver’s door
  • Then we need to press the START button to turn on the ignition without starting the engine 
  • Next, step on GAS and BRAKE pedals together and we need to hold them for 60 seconds
  • After that, you can release the pedals and turn off the ignition and the service light should be reset
