Hey yo, SUV lovers! So we’re back with another oil reset how-to content. In this post, we will cover how to reset your oil service light on your Nissan Pathfinder old generation, not the newest one.
Resetting the service light in this car is something you can easily do on your own at home without really needing special tools. If you do it yourself, you can save a lot of money and keep an eye on what’s going on with your vehicle. So let’s jump into this, and let’s reset it.

2008-2012 Nissan Pathfinder Oil Service Light Reset Guide
For your info, this will apply specifically to the 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 model years. 2013 through the current model year has been a little bit different but I’ll try to get you a link up here.
With Cluster Button
- First, you turn your key on
- Then you press and hold the ? button on the dash till you see the spanner flashing
- Once it flashing then you can turn it to the right or to the left depending on what you want to set your service interval
- Once you done with that, you just leave it and then it’ll stop and they’ll go back to their the mileage
Time needed: 3 minutes
I have just done an oil change on this Nissan Pathfinder, and now I went to show you how to reset the service intervals on the navigation display. So let’s do it.
- Turn the key to on
First of all, you turn on the ignition
- Press the INFO button
Then go to the main menu and click on INFO so it will bring up the menu
- Go to MAINTENACE
Next, we go to the MAINTENANCE and click enter
- Scroll to ENGINE OIL or REMINDER 1
After that, you go to ENGINE OIL and you click enter again
- Select the RESET DISTANCE
Then you go down to RESET DISTANCE and click enter and see it’s been reset
So that’s how you reset oil on the Nissan Pathfinder. This is an R51 pathfinder, but its default engines will be exactly the same, and this is Diesel’s, but I’m sure the petrol will be exactly the same. I really appreciate you guys tuning in, and we’ll see you guys next time.
