Hello everyone, I’m here again. So the reason why you’re reading this content is probably that you want to know how to reset the service light once you change your engine oil on your Ford transit.

So we’re here to help you to reset the service warning light on your Ford Transit. If the engine oil life is less than 5% you’ll see the Oil Change Required Light on display. The engine oil life interval must be reset after performed the maintenance service on your vehicle. So let’s jump right into that.

Ford Transit Oil Change/Service Light Reset Guide

Time needed: 3 minutes

All right, this is a 2019 Ford Transit 350 with a 3.5 EcoBoost. I have the oil change light come on, and I’m going to show you how to turn it off once the engine oil has been changed. So what you want to do is:

  1. Turn on your car without starting it up

Do not start the engine to proceed to the next step

  2. Fully press the brake and the gas pedal together

Next, step on the gas pedal and brake pedal at the same time and the Service oil reset in progress message should come up on the dash. This will take probably about 15-20 seconds so you just keep holding

  3. Continue holding both pedals

Keep holding the pedals until you see the message change to Reset Complete and then you can let off the pedals

  4. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine

Now you can start the vehicle and the message will go away and your oil life is reset

For your info, this operation work for the third and fourth generations of the Ford Transit (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 model years).

So that’s all you need to do. It’s quick and easy; it’s not tough. I know many people I know have trouble with these service lights, but hopefully, this video helps you. So thanks for reading!
