To turning off the Service Oil Life Light on older models of Volkswagen Beetle (1998/ 1999/ 2000/ 2001/ 2002/ 2003/ 2004/ 2005/ 2006/ 2007/ 2008/ 2009/ 2010/ 2011), conform to the following instructions:

  • Press and hold the trip-odometer button, and turn the ignition switch to the “On” position, but do not start the engine
  • Release the trip-odometer button when “SERVICE” appears on the display
  • Briefly press the trip-odometer button button again until “SERVICE” disappears on the display
  • Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
